DC: The book series known as Operation StarHawks came about when my editor contacted me about cooking up some high-action adventures centered around a special ops team. It’s not every day a writer lands a six-book contract without even making a pitch. Despite the tight deadlines, I enjoyed writing about this group of characters. Halfway through the series, artist David Cherry was hired to do the covers for the remaining titles, much to my delight.

After the first book came out, a publishing disagreement caused Ace Books to decide to change the series title. So the Space Hawks became the StarHawks.
