| Despite her sense of foreboding, Anna Templeton was in no position to
question the “suitable” marriage Grandmama had arranged for
her. The prospective groom, her cousin Oliver, turned out to be a cold and
scheming bore, but the marriage was Anna’s only hope of saving her
old and ailing father from poverty. Far more attractive to Anna was the handsome young Duke of Rotham. And he was as enchanted with the beautiful young woman as she was with him. But even love’s temptation could not make her forsake her duty. As the marriage drew near, apprehension turned to cold fear. Someone wanted Anna out of the way. Caught in a web of intrigue, jealousy, and greed, Anna would not discover until her wedding day the truth about the man she was being forced to marry … or the man she couldn’t help but love. |
| DC: A pleasant little Regency tale that unfortunately was published just as the market for that genre temporarily dried up. But it led to my decision to switch over to writing science fiction, so some good came from it after all. |
